Calvert Marine Museum
If you want to learn about Solomons Island’s past, look no further than Calvert Marine Museum. It features exhibits on marine ecology, shipbuilding, and lighthouses. The Drum Point Lighthouse, in particular, is an 1883 wood and cast iron lighthouse. It’s one of the four last surviving Chesapeake screw-pile lighthouses.
Children under the age of five can visit the museum for free. Meanwhile, children above five and adults are required to pay an entry fee of $6 and $11, respectively.

Annmarie Garden Sculpture Park

Chesapeake Biological Laboratory
Chesapeake Biological Lab, located on the southern end of the boardwalk, has exhibits related to environmental health and research in the Bay. The lab is the oldest marine laboratory on the East Coast that is supported by the state. It’s run by the University of Maryland.
Today, the institution supports a wide diversity of flora and fauna. These are estimated to include 348 species of finfish, 173 species of shellfish, 2,700 plant species, and over 16 species of underwater grasses. Visitors can also experience the oyster reef community aquarium.

Calvert Cliffs State Park
